Diabetes
The different forms of diabetes are managed differently. An accurate diagnosis is the starting point for the right treatment plan.
Type 1 diabetes
An autoimmune condition where the body stops producing insulin, most often diagnosed in childhood or early adulthood.
Type 2 diabetes
The most common form of diabetes, where the body becomes resistant to insulin or doesn't produce enough of it.
Gestational diabetes
Diabetes that develops during pregnancy, requiring monitoring for both parent and baby.
Autoimmune diabetes (LADA)
A slower-onset autoimmune diabetes in adults, sometimes mistaken for type 2 diabetes at first.
